Confessions of a Freebird - Midlife, Divorce, Heal, and Date Differently with Somatic Experiencing, Empty Nest, Well-Being, Happiness
Hi, I’m Laurie James—author of Sandwiched: A Memoir of Holding On and Letting Go, somatic relationship coach, mother of four adult daughters, divorcée, and recovering caregiver.
I created Confessions of a Freebird as a heartfelt space for women navigating midlife transitions—divorce, empty nesting, loss, dating again, or simply wondering:
“Is this all there is?”
If you're longing for more authenticity, joy, freedom, and purpose, especially after years of putting everyone else first, you're in the right place.
Each episode, I’ll share:
- Practical tools and somatic coaching strategies
- Raw reflections and confessions from my own journey
- Expert conversations on everything from sex, grief, trauma healing, and finances to dating, caregiving, and reinvention
We'll explore what it means to come home to yourself through somatic practices—and how to design a life that feels aligned with who you are now, not who you were 20 years ago or who someone or society has told you to be.
Whether you’re in the sandwich generation, starting over after loss, or dreaming of your next chapter—Confessions of a Freebird is your midlife best friend. Think of it as a permission slip to evolve, heal, and fall in love with your life all over again.
Because the most important relationship you’ll ever have… is the one you have with yourself.
XO,
Laurie

Using Astrology Predictions to Support Your Spiritual Awakening and Somatic Healing with Remy Ramirez
Do you notice the same patterns repeating in your life?
What if those patterns weren’t random but part of your astrological blueprint, offering guidance for your healing journey?
In this light, New Year episode, I sit down with Remy Ramirez—astrologer, mental health coach, and host of the Patrauma Party podcast—for a grounded and expansive conversation on using astrology as a tool for self-awareness, emotional healing, and inner work.
We explore what’s ahead in 2026 astrology, including the rare Saturn–Neptune conjunction, and how this potent alignment may signal both a collective energetic shift and a deeply personal invitation to change and do the inner work. Rather than predicting fate, we discuss how astrology can help you understand your nervous system patterns, emotional responses, and subconscious themes—so you can move forward with greater clarity and compassion.
Remy also shares how receiving her own birth chart reading illuminated the roots of long-held wounds, softened her relationship with herself, and opened the door to lasting emotional healing. If you’ve been navigating self-love, energetic boundaries, or a season of transition, this episode offers insight, reassurance, and gentle encouragement.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- What the 2026 Saturn–Neptune conjunction may bring collectively and personally
- How astrology mirrors nervous system responses and emotional patterns
- Why somatic healing and subconscious work pair powerfully with astrology
- How astrology supports spiritual healing and growth
- The connection between your moon sign and mental health
- How your birth chart reveals emotional patterns
- The healing power of naming and understanding recurring patterns
- How to work intentionally with full moon and new moon energy
- Why astrology predictions are about awareness—not destiny
- The role of self-respect in healing and relationships
- How astrology can guide both your subconscious work and next steps with clarity
Whether you’re in a season of reflection, transition, or spiritual awakening, this conversation offers a reminder: healing doesn’t happen all at once. As you learn to trust yourself—and the divine timing of your path, clarity unfolds naturally.
Much love,
Laurie

Hey free birds, welcome back. I am so excited about today's guest, Remy Ramirez. She is the host of the Patrauma Party podcast, a mental health coach, and an astrologer who blends emotional healing with cosmic insight in such a beautiful way.
I thought it would be a great way to start out the year by talking about astrology in 2026, the connection between astrology and our healing journey, and depending on time, we may even touch on how to develop more self-love and self-respect as we move into the new year. So Remy has such a grounded yet magical perspective and I can't wait to dive in. So welcome Remy, and thank you so much for being here.
Remy Ramirez: Oh Laurie, it is so great to be here. I'm thrilled to be on.
Laurie James: Yay! Well, I'm excited about jumping into this conversation. So can you start by sharing with me and our listeners - I do know some of your story but not all of it - a little bit about your story and how you became an astrologer and mental health coach?
Remy Ramirez: Yeah. So you know, astrology was something that I always was interested in even when I was little. I'm a Sagittarius sun and I would read and read about Sagittarius and I was like, that's me, that's me to a T, that's me - until I would get to the part about how Sagittarians were in love, right, in romance. I was like, that is not me at all.
And it wasn't until I was living in San Francisco in my 20s that someone said, "Where's your moon? Where's your Venus? What's your rising?" And I was like, what are you, what is that? Come to find out astrology is very detailed, very in-depth, very complex.
So as I started researching, I found like, yeah, I'm a Sagittarius but my Venus is in Scorpio, which has completely different energy from Sagittarius, right? And from there I just - everything sort of clicked for me and what really happened for me when I started studying my chart was I came to have a lot more compassion for myself. I started to understand - yes, I started to understand that places in my own what I saw as my personality or things that I did that really bothered me, that I was really frustrated by, when I started looking at my chart I was like, "Oh, this is why. And oh, this is how I work on that."
So it was beautiful for me to start with my chart and really in that moment it sort of combined those two things: astrology and mental health.
Laurie James: I do - well, and I love two things I want to comment about that. One is how beautiful is that it gave you more compassion towards yourself for who you were. And that is such a beautiful place to start whenever we're, wherever we are or whatever we're struggling with at any particular time, is to come to it with compassion and curiosity, which you then also had. When I was a guest on your podcast, you read my astrological sign and my sun and my moon and - and you were like, on target. Like you were so on, and I was like, that's me, to a T.
Remy Ramirez: Yeah, and that really is what you find. You know, I think a lot of people poo-poo horoscopes, but rightly so because horoscopes are - we're really not digging into the whole chart, right? It's such a broad stroke. So yeah, astrology when you're able to get into the details is extremely specific, right? And that's what we want to get to really understand the chart-holder's journey.
Laurie James: Yeah, yeah. So, and I love the cross between the woo and doing the work. So how has that cross between the two helped you?
Remy Ramirez: That's such a great question. So one thing that we understand about astrology as astrologers is that we're working with archetypes. So we're working with energies and every planet is sort of its own archetype. And when you're looking at a chart, you can literally see things around trauma - right, that's Pluto - around wounding - that's Chiron - around healing - that's Jupiter.
So we can look into astrology not just to see what the pain is, but to understand how to heal the pain. All of that information is embedded in the chart. And as a mental health coach, you know, like for example I did a reading for someone yesterday who had some major placements in the 12th house, which is the house of subconscious beliefs and mental health, right?
And so working with her and helping her understand a big part of her healing is to get into those subconscious beliefs that are ruling her without her even knowing it. And I know that's a lot of what you do in somatics, it's a lot of what I do working with IFS, internal family systems, in my coaching. And I'm, I just finished - well, when this podcast drops, I'll have finished the IFS coach training. Have you done that?
Remy Ramirez: I've done part of it, not all of it.
Laurie James: Okay, yeah, yeah. IFS is so great, I'm loving it.
Remy Ramirez: It's my favorite!
Laurie James: I was a little resistant to it at first but now I'm starting to integrate it into my coaching and really understanding it and embodying it.
Remy Ramirez: Yes, yes. It's huge for exactly that. For like, what is the thing underneath me that's sort of taking over?
Laurie James: Yeah, the part of me that feels like it needs to manage or protect.
Remy Ramirez: Yeah. Or the part of me like when we're talking about exiles, the part of me that I get blended with, right? Like the self gets blended with the exile when we're in, you know, a complete meltdown, when we're having an emotional flashback, right?
Laurie James: Right, or getting triggered by something. Yeah, that's the past coming into the present as we know.
Remy Ramirez: Right, exactly, exactly.
Laurie James: Love that connection. And so I think I probably cut you off, so can you expand a little bit more how the cross between the two has helped you on your healing journey and getting back to - I know that a lot of the work that you've done on yourself is, you know, really working on self-love and self-respect because I know you had a really difficult childhood, an abusive childhood.
Remy Ramirez: Yeah. Yeah, you know what's interesting about my chart is - well, I mean, one of the things is that I have Saturn - and this is just an example - I have Saturn conjunct Jupiter in Libra in my fifth house. So what does that mean? Saturn is all about boundaries, Jupiter is all about healing, Libra is all about relationships.
So a big piece of the puzzle for me in my healing has been really taking on boundaries in my relationships because I was raised not to have boundaries, right? Having - and that's sort of what in our conversation about self-respect, there's a lot of that, right? A lot of us were raised in abusive homes where we were not allowed to say no.
And then we take that straight into our relationships with our partners, with our best friends. So that's one way that we can approach astrology to help us understand how we heal, what the medicine is, and also where the pain is.
Another example in my chart is I have Chiron, which represents the wounded healer, opposing Venus, which represents love. So there's a lot of wounding for me in my attempts for love, which was a huge theme for me growing up, trying so hard to get approval from my dad, trying so hard to sort of manage my mom's rage, right? And people-pleasing left, right, and center.
And so as an adult, you'll see in a chart repeating themes. And for me - like the chart-holder who I was reading for last night, the repeating theme was self-sacrifice, just like again and again not prioritizing herself. In my chart, again and again, the theme is a lack of boundaries.
And so we look to the chart to understand what is the theme, where is the wound, and also where is the healing. Again, like for me having Jupiter and Saturn conjunct, Saturn is just like - Saturn says no first, before even thinking about it, right? Jupiter is all about healing. So there's something for me in not necessarily saying no, but in having the energy of when it's a no, it's a no.
Laurie James: Yeah, and not overriding that. Right. So I have a question around this. I love what you're saying, but you know, if we have these different planets and houses that are part of our astrological makeup and we've got these different signs, is that like - "Oh, this is just the way it is"? Or can we, even though those signs are there, can we change that? Are they teachers or are they just part of who we are?
Remy Ramirez: Yeah, that's such a good question. And also it will depend on who you talk to. What I will say is what I have found to be true is that I do see a certain amount of future-telling that happens when I read charts in the sense that I can kind of know what the chart-holder especially experienced in childhood. And a lot of that feels destined, right?
A lot of the lessons that the chart-holder came into this life to learn feel destined. So in that way, there is a bit of a staticness to it, right? A bit of an unchangeableness to it. However, also when we're looking at the chart, I'm not saying "And then next month this is going to happen to you, and then this thing is going to happen to you."
What I am looking at and looking for really is, here are the things that have caused you the most pain, here are the directions that life has taken you. Now what? And the reason that's so important is - and the reason why astrology is so helpful with that is, yes, I'm going to tell you what has happened and I'm going to know that in the chart to some extent, right?
I'm not going to know the details, but I'm going to know - "Hmm, things probably weren't great with your dad, huh?" You know, like I'll know things like that, or like you struggle with boundaries based off of, you know, this is something that you've struggled with.
Exactly. Then in the chart, what we'll do is we'll say, "There are a lot of ways you could go from here, but here's the way that's going to be most helpful according to your chart," right? And this is the part where the flexibility comes in. This is the part where the free will and the where do we go from here.
Laurie James: The free will, which is such a key part, right? Whether it's astrology or like I have a psychic that I talk to regularly and that, you know, it's like here are all the different things but we have free will. So we can either choose to act upon this and actively make changes or work on us to heal or we can not.
Remy Ramirez: Yeah, exactly. That is exactly it. And really choosing healing and how to heal and where to put our focus in our healing, those are the places where we have control, where we have agency and power. And yeah, chart readings are especially helpful for exactly that.
Laurie James: Yeah. I know I come across this sometimes. There's a lot of fear, like people don't want to know, right? They don't want to know because if they know then they either have to do something about it, like we just talked about, or choose not to. Do you run into that also?
Remy Ramirez: To people being resistant? Yeah. You know, I think by the time they've decided to do the reading, not really, right? Or if they are, then they don't tell me.
You know, for example with the chart-holder last night, I said "I strongly suggest that you do some work outside of just CBT therapy. I strongly suggest, you know, somatic work, IFS, hypnosis, or whatever it is that works for you that's going to get really deep into those hidden beliefs that you are not aware of." Now, she didn't say, "I hate that idea," but whether or not she goes out and does that is really up to her and I have no idea, right? So it's really sort of like, again, it's in their hands.
Laurie James: Yeah, yeah. No, I get that. That's that going back to the free will for sure. So let's change topics a little bit. What's in store for us astrologically for 2026?
Remy Ramirez: Okay, so there's a lot - I mean every year there's so much astrology, but I wanted to zero in on a really big aspect that's happening in 2026 and -
Laurie James: Ooh, juicy!
Remy Ramirez: Yes, it is very juicy. So this is happening in February, but we have started to feel it now and we will feel it after February as well. It goes exact in February.
So what I'm talking about is the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries. And a conjunction just means together, right? So what that means is in the zodiac they are coming exactly together at the exact same degree in February, okay? This is something that only happens once every 36 years.
The last time it happened was 1989 and it coincided with the Berlin Wall falling. And this makes huge sense, and I'll explain this. Saturn represents among other things boundaries, like we were just talking about, right? You think about the Berlin Wall. Neptune is the ruler of water, so water hates boundaries, right? There are no boundaries in water.
Neptune likes things like dreams and ideals and compassion and healing. Capricorn, which is where this happened in 1989 - this happened in Capricorn - Capricorn represents government systems. So we saw a government-drawn boundary, Saturn in Capricorn, get dissolved, which is what water, Neptune, does to earth, Saturn.
So this time we're not in Capricorn, we're in Aries, and Aries represents things like war, disputes, leaders, aggression, right? And the wild thing about this conjunction is that it happens right at zero degrees of Aries, which in astrology zero degrees of Aries is the very beginning of the zodiac. It's the 0 to the 360, right? There's 360 degrees in a wheel, which is what the zodiac is.
So this is, we're at zero. So something is powerfully being birthed while something else is powerfully ending, right?
Laurie James: Okay. Should I get on my spaceship now and leave? Should I move to another country? Like what do I need to do here, Remy?
Remy Ramirez: Well, so this can look a lot of different ways. Here's what I'll say about this. So Saturn rules science, the law, and a need for structure and boundaries. Neptune rules religion, intuition, and a need for faith and imagination. So they're essentially polar opposites, these two. And like I said, they're coming together for the first time in 36 years and they're kind of duking it out, right, in the same way that they did in 1989.
And one thing I'll say about that is Saturn is in its detriment in Aries, meaning it's weaker here and it's more susceptible to Neptune's power.
Laurie James: Okay, so and Saturn is - remind me - Saturn is the boundaries.
Remy Ramirez: The boundaries. Okay, so the boundaries may fall away, is that what I hear you say?
Remy Ramirez: If I had to guess, I would say that's the outcome that's probably most likely just because Saturn is in its detriment in Aries. But also Neptune doesn't love Aries either, right? So it's kind of a toss-up. But let me name some of the possibilities here with this astrology so that we can kind of get a lay of the land.
Laurie James: Okay, I love this.
Remy Ramirez: Let's say Saturn is weakened by Neptune. What could that look like in our personal lives, right? Outside of government stuff. What could that look like in our personal lives and then what could it look like on a societal level?
Laurie James: Beautiful. I love this.
Remy Ramirez: So on a personal level, we could have experiences where places in our lives where we thought there was just no way to move forward, where we thought they were insurmountable obstacles or boundaries - maybe it's like a relationship that we - we're estranged from someone, right? Or maybe it's the job that we just were like, that project I'll never be able to get on that project, I'll never get that promotion, right? Or whatever it is. We could see those blockages kind of tumble down, right? That's Neptune dissolving the blockage, the obstacle of Saturn.
Laurie James: Or maybe something that's keeping us blocked from, you know, taking that next step in what we want to create in our lives.
Remy Ramirez: Totally. It could be an internal piece where it's like the breakthrough we just couldn't get to finally - or like maybe it's having love for ourselves or maybe it's like finally getting free from a feeling addicted to a relationship, right? Or whatever it is. Finally we get that breakthrough, we get like the healing sort of triumphs over the blockage, right?
On a societal level, we could see government structures or leaders who represent aggression or war, we could see those being weakened or toppled. Neptune also represents things like conspiracy theories and cults. So the downside of this option would be a takeover in these areas, right? If Neptune's able to win out and Neptune is all about conspiracy theories, like our ability to use logical skepticism, which is what Saturn's all about, could get eroded by Neptune's like over-imagination and lack of structure.
So that's one thing. But on the other hand, let's say Saturn is the victor here, right? And Saturn is triumphing over Neptune. On a personal level, that could look like us applying logic and structure to making our dreams a reality, right? Like committing, not just having the dream of, you know, the salary or the relationship or you know whatever, but like okay, what are the actual steps I need to take? That's the beautiful thing that Saturn offers, right, is like here are tangible steps to get to where you're going.
Laurie James: Beautiful.
Remy Ramirez: Or the bummer side of it could be we could experience a disillusion around our dreams, like a reality check. Like this thing that we've been holding out for, we've been hoping and hoping for, Saturn comes in and is like, "Baby, it just ain't gonna happen," right? You know, and we could go through that heartbreak.
On the macro level, if Saturn is the victor here, this would look like government structure sort of stomping out ideologies around compassion or healing. And since we're in Aries, that would involve probably aggression of some kind. Or another way that could look is like more logical, level-headed entities exposing cults or exposing conspiracy theories for being false or right things like that.
So there are a few ways it could play out. But whatever it is that we see happen - and again it's going to go conjunct fully exact on February 20th.
Laurie James: Okay, so later in February.
Remy Ramirez: Yes. This is going to have a major impact. And so for your listeners, if they want to find out more about how that will impact them, they first want to figure out what house Aries rules for them. And that will really help them understand where they'll feel this astrology most in their lives.
Laurie James: Okay. And how would somebody find that out? If somebody's listening and they're like, "Oh, I want to know," how would they find it out? And I'm looking at my little notes too. So my sun -
Remy Ramirez: Okay. So that means you have Aries in the 12th house. So this is your house of mental health and subconscious beliefs and healing. So this is beautiful for you. There's a lot of healing potential for you here. Especially because we're dealing with Neptune, and Neptune is the house - actually Neptune rules the 12th house. So for you Neptune is going to be a lot stronger in this house for you. This is the house that Neptune oversees. So I would say there's more of a likelihood for a healing impact in your life.
Laurie James: More? I'm still healing? When does it end, Remy?
Remy Ramirez: She's going deep, honey, let me tell you. I wish someone could answer that question for me too. When we die, when we're on our deathbed. I mean I think we just dive back into it on the other side, that's what I think. Probably.
Yeah, but so for people who don't know, what they would want to do - you have to have your birth time to know your houses. That's how you get your rising sign and from your rising sign, for me I read whole sign houses. So from there you would know all the rest of your houses. So for me Aries rules the 11th house, for you it rules the 12th house and that's because we have different rising signs, right?
Laurie James: Right. Okay, right. And if somebody was interested in diving into this they could reach out to you and you could do a full reading for them for the year, is that right?
Remy Ramirez: Yeah, I'm doing birth chart readings and I do year-ahead readings. So if people are interested in how 2026 is going to impact them they would just go to my podcast, the Patrauma Party, and then in the show notes in any of the episodes it says "Work with Remy here," there's like a little link and you can book a session.
Laurie James: Beautiful, beautiful. I love that. Okay. So we have some different potential ways that February could go for us personally. You also then - were you finished with that or did you have more to add on the personal?
Remy Ramirez: No, so that's what - in terms of big astrology for 2026, that is the major thing that I wanted to talk about and bring to you here was that conjunction is going to be huge in the same way that like the falling of the Berlin Wall was huge. It's going to be that level huge. Yeah.
Laurie James: And then from a societal standpoint everything that's going on in our world is either - and conspiracy theories and ideologies either going to continue and take over or it's going to fall, is that the sense that I get? Am I correct?
Remy Ramirez: Yeah, that's absolutely one thing that could happen. Another thing that could happen is, you know, Neptune doesn't like - well doesn't like structure really. Doesn't like the no. Neptune doesn't come in with a no. Neptune likes to be sort of everywhere.
So like you know there's a lot going on with like borders and talking about immigration, right, and all of that - that really came to mind for me when I was looking at this. Like wow, Saturn is as we saw with the Berlin Wall is really about manifesting as borders in our government space, in our societal space. So there could be big changes around that.
There could be again, Aries rules leaders and war really, like Aries is the god of war. Right, we're talking about archetypes and so Aries represents that male principle - the masculine principle, excuse me - and the energy of aggression and war. Also not just aggression and war but going after what you want, ambition, right, like which is a beautiful masculine principle.
And the dark side of that is war and aggression. Right, so looking, you know, there's a lot in our in the news right now about war. There's a lot. And so feeling it not only on our own soil in the US because the government's sending military into some of our cities as we're recording this - I mean this is going to drop in a couple of months so we don't know what the situation's going to be in January but at the time of recording that's what we're experiencing and I know there's some pushback against that and there's some legality to all of that as well of is this legal is this not legal and technically it's not.
Anyway, so it'll be interesting to see how all that plays out. Okay. And I think we can look to February for some big changes with that. Okay. One way or the other. Yeah.
Laurie James: Well, and is there anything later in the year that is a sign of like settling or, you know, because it sounds like there's something big that's going to happen in February and then is there any signs that you see that there's some settlement to what's potentially going to happen in February one way or the other?
Remy Ramirez: Well, I do - this is what's so - well, you want the good news and bad news? Here's what I'll say about this. So people are always like, "Oh I can't wait to get my chart read," and then I'm like looking them in the eye and I'm like, "What happened in your youth?" Um, so anyway that's just to say astrology doesn't play.
And so one of the things that I see with this, again this is happening at zero degrees of Aries, the very beginning of the beginning. This is the beginning, beginning, beginning. So this is actually - we're starting something new with this.
Laurie James: Oh, okay. Yeah.
Remy Ramirez: So this is - this is not closure energy, this is birth energy.
Laurie James: This is birth energy. Something is being birthed that's different than what we've experienced. What direction it actually will take and goes in is still yet to be seen but there's a birthing of something. Got it. Okay. All right, I'm going to send the good juju out there and hope it's something that benefits our society as a whole.
Remy Ramirez: Yes, that's the prayer that I come back to, the highest good for all.
Laurie James: Absolutely, because I think we need that for sure, for sure. So we've talked about February, so I know what else I want to talk about. Can we talk a little bit about the importance of like a new moon and a full moon and like why those are important for us and if you even want to get into a super moon, you know that energy?
Remy Ramirez: Yeah, like what's up with moons?
Laurie James: Yeah, because I you know I've done a lot of you know kind of spiritual healing and you know if I get it right the new moon is focusing on what you want to bring in into your life and the full moon is what you're ready to release. Do I have that right?
Remy Ramirez: That's right, uh-huh.
Laurie James: Do you want to expand on that?
Remy Ramirez: Yeah. Yeah, so that's exactly right what you said. A new moon is when we're planting seeds. So let's say you have a new moon in Sagittarius. In six months from then you will have a full moon in Sagittarius. And so the way that we work with that energy is we plant seeds now during the new moon and we expect to see some of the results of that during the following full moon which comes in six months.
Laurie James: Oh, I did not know that. Oh, I like that. Okay.
Remy Ramirez: Yeah. So you want to be intentional and you want to work with the energy of it. So let's say this is a Pisces full moon. Pisces rules the world of healing, rules the world of spirituality, of the occult. And when I say the occult, occult just means something that's hidden.
So this is like Tarot is the occult, psychics are the occult, we're working with the hidden realm. Reiki could be considered the occult. The word occult sort of got misused somewhere along the way. It just means working with the hidden realm. So some people consider astrology the occult.
So that's the world that Neptune lives in and Neptune loves art, Neptune loves compassion, loves helping others, right? Have big open heart. So during a Pisces new moon, we want to plant seeds around that. Okay, what's important to me right now? Well, I really want to get my art in a gallery. I'm tired of having all this gorgeous work just sitting around my house. I want the world to see it.
Okay, so this is the new moon, I'm going to submit to some different showings. Like I'm going to put my art out there, I'm going to - I'm not exactly sure how that world works. I'm going to audition. I'm going to audition my art into the art world, right? And then we would hope to see that come back to us in six months' time. We want to give it the - or to see some sort of progress happen in six months' time.
But what you wouldn't want to do is like, let's say you want a corporate job. You probably - the Pisces new moon isn't the best time for that to work with that because Pisces just doesn't care about that. Right? Capricorn, the Capricorn new moon is the time for that kind of work. So we want to be in touch with at least where the overlap is between what we want and the energy of that moon to sow those seeds, right, to do that work.
And then in the full moon, yes it's a sort of a release, but it's also a culmination, right? It's like you can't have the ending without the beginning type of energy. So like yes it's a release but the reason why, you know, in lore people always act crazy around full moons is because it's like reaching a peak, right? It's the fullest. And so the energy can can get very expansive and big. So and then it falls, it starts to shed right after that.
Laurie James: So is it true then with the full moon is it important to know based off of your astrological sign, you know what that represents also? So just like the new moon it's equally as important to understand what each astrological sign represents.
Remy Ramirez: Exactly. And also where it falls in your chart. So let's say for example like Pisces rules my house of career. So if we have a Pisces new moon, yes this represents healing, but my career is around healing and the occult, right? I'm an astrologer and I'm in mental health. So I'm going to want to think about, okay, what seeds do I want to plant around my career growth?
For everyone that's going to be a different part of their chart and like that moon might trine something in my chart. Right, that's an aspect it means it's 120 degrees from this other placement, other planet, right? So we can look at the astrology of right now, a moon for example, and see how it is interacting with the astrology of your birth chart to understand more in is the best time to plant the seeds, when is it the best time to focus your attention on your intention for your business, your love life, your whatever it is.
Laurie James: What are the - like Neptune for example, if people have this Neptune thing happening in their house of love, right, in their house of true love which I consider the fifth house, or the house of partnership, house of marriage which is a seventh house. This Neptune thing, you know, you want to be careful about deceit. Neptune rules illusions as well as its dreams, right? But sometimes those dreams are an illusion.
So beautiful side of Neptune is the dreams and the healing, the shadow side is the deceit and the trickery. And so these are, right, when we're seeing how all of the astrology of now is showing up in our individual birth charts, we can make clearer decisions.
Love that, love that. Wow. Okay. So this is bigger than I thought. I mean, because I just kind of focused on the full moon and the new moons as a time to like shed and to then to a time to create like what do I want to bring into my life. This is taking it a whole another level of really kind of almost planning and planting what you want throughout the whole year and it could be like for you and I it could even be around when's the best time to launch, you know, a course or when's the best time to create it, when's the best time to launch it.
But then also I'm recently out of a - not recently but six-ish months at recording and almost a year by the time this drops out of a relationship, so okay, all right this is getting me excited for next year.
Remy Ramirez: Yeah. I mean it really is a beautiful thing to work with. It's really - it's so helpful, you know? It's just so helpful and supportive.
Laurie James: Yeah. As we come to a close here what's a confession or a takeaway that you want to leave our listeners with?
Remy Ramirez: Well, here, as a Sagittarius, one thing I love is adventure. And recently I - a friend was sort of like, "Come with me to this nudist - nudist lake."
Laurie James: Go girl.
Remy Ramirez: Well as a Sagittarius I was like, "Hell yeah." And you know, I just got butt-ass naked and swam around a beautiful lake and you know maybe that's my confession. I was doing my own mooning, my own mooning.
Laurie James: You were doing your own mooning. And what better way to feel a sense of freedom.
Remy Ramirez: Exactly, which is what Sagittarius loves. Sagittarius loves to feel free, and I did. Yeah, I mean confessions of a free bird girl, right? We like our independence, we like our adventure. That's right. Hey, I'll try anything twice.
Laurie James: That's my - that's what I say too! Oh my god that's so funny. I love that. Except for skydiving, I will not try skydiving twice.
Remy Ramirez: Thank you. 100 percent. I love adventure but I don't need to fall out of a plane.
Laurie James: No, definitely not, definitely not. And just remind everyone where people can find you.
Remy Ramirez: You can find my podcast anywhere you get pods. It's the Patrauma Party, like pajama party but Patrauma Party. You can also find me on TikTok and Insta, it's @thepatraumaparty. And actually on my socials I've started doing something called Mental Health Moon where I will talk about how the astrology of the week is impacting our mental health.
Laurie James: Yeah, I've noticed that on Instagram and I love it. I love that you're doing that.
Remy Ramirez: Yeah, I really - it's what I love. It's what I really love to talk about. So that's been a lot of fun. And so if those interest people, they can find those there too.
Laurie James: Beautiful, beautiful. And I think I'm going to book something with you for the new year, so I'm excited. And I hope some of the listeners do too. So thank you again, Remy, for being here and for sharing all your insight and I look forward to staying connected.
Remy Ramirez: Thank you so much for having me, Laurie, you too. I look forward to it.
